Lawrence M. Lutzak
President
Having joined OSQ in 2011 and a life-long resident of Queens, Larry and his wife Kathy have lived in Bellerose since 1987. They are parents of two daughters and grandparents to three grandchildren. Now retired, Larry’s professional career spanned forty five years in the insurance / reinsurance industry. He holds degrees from St. John’s University in English Literature and an MBA in Executive Management. Larry is an FCC-licensed Amateur Radio operator and past president of the ARC Emergency Communications Service, having served as a volunteer since 1967. Larry is also a runner, having run seven marathons, four being the NYC Marathon. He sang both glee club and solo performances in Archbishop Molloy HS. Larry became a member of the Board in 2012 and assumed the OSQ Presidency in July of 2019. On OSQ: “It is an honor and a privilege to be a part of the OSQ family. Choral singing at OSQ has given me a whole new perspective on music, continually striving to improve with my fellow members.”
Irene C. Junge
Vice President
Irene, a retired HR executive and educator, most recently joined OSQ in 2007. From harmonizing at home to playing violin in student orchestras - from drumming in a drum and bugle corps to choral singing in schools, churches and concert halls - making music with others has been an abiding source of joy throughout her life. Singing with the talented members of OSQ gives her a dose of that joy – and community - each week. Irene and her husband live in Forest Hills, thankfully within ‘hugging distance’ of their three young granddaughters. Irene is pleased to serve on the OSQ Board and honored to be its Vice President.
Patricia M. Taylor
Treasurer
Patty has been a member of OSQ since September 2016. She was invited to join the Board of Directors in July 2019, and was recently was appointed Treasurer of the organization. Patty finds it especially rewarding to contribute her technical, financial and organizational skills for the good of the organization. As a member of the Publicity Committee, Patty is responsible for the OSQ website and our social media presence, and enjoys finding new and creative ways to communicate and engage with OSQ members, fans, and supporters. Retired from a long career as an IT Project Manager and CVP, Patty enjoys a more relaxed life style doing some volunteer work, working part time as community Program Manager, enjoying her puppies, practicing with her husband (and fellow choir member) Steve, and traveling whenever possible!
Marguerite LeBron
Secretary
Marguerite is a lifelong New Yorker and a native of Queens. Her love of music began at an early age listening with her father to classical and modern recordings on his huge old tape player, and singing while being accompanied by her grandmother who was a piano teacher, as well as church organist and choir director for a Congregational parish in Terryville CT. The expansion of her musical education came about through private piano and accordion lessons, in addition to playing cello and clarinet in junior high school and high school. As an elementary school teacher, Marguerite enjoyed working with children and established youth choirs in several of the schools where she taught. After singing with church choirs for many years, it is now a thrill to sing and work with the Oratorio Society of Queens, a community-based group with such excellent standards of musical selection and performance.
Jennifer Graham
Jennifer has been a member of OSQ since 2019. She has been a great lover of music all her life, from singing in the car, to playing the piano, to participating in choirs all throughout grade school and college. Jennifer is an elementary school teacher in Jamaica, Queens, working with students with autism and intellectual disabilities. She lives with her cat, JoJo, in Oakland Gardens, Queens. Jennifer’s enthusiasm and willingness to share her technical skills with OSQ to help keep our members “connected” has been a valuable asset to the organization. She is honored to be on the board and contributing to OSQ's continuing success.
Eileen E. Scott
Eileen is a retired elementary school teacher who taught on American military bases in Germany for 28 years. A life-long music lover, Eileen sang in the Grace Church girls' choir in Jamaica, Queens and in various choirs on the military base in Bremerhaven, Germany. Reading an advertisement in one of the local Queens newspapers about singing Handel's "Messiah" with OSQ when she returned to New York in 2006, this historical chorus became her musical home both as a singer and as a board of directors member. Eileen is proud and honored to continue to serve on the board.
Stephen M. Taylor
Steve (along with his wife, Patty) joined OSQ in September 2016, getting back into choral singing after a hiatus of 20 years. Originally from Connecticut, both of his parents were musicians. Though never a formally trained singer, Steve has a ton of experience singing ranging from church choir to barbershop to 40’s-style harmony group! In addition to working as a freelance graphic designer and developer, Steve has been playing string and electric bass with local jazz and pop groups in the NY-CT-NJ area for over 30 years. Steve studied music at Berklee and New England Conservatory in Boston and holds a BA in Music from Reed College in Portland, OR. Steve says “I’m proud to serve as a member of the OSQ Board.”
